The Hensley Historic District is a small residential neighborhood located in San Jose, California. The district is named after the Hensley House, a historic Queen Anne-style home that was built in 1904 by local businessman James Hensley.
James Hensley was a prominent figure in San Jose during the late 1800s and early 1900s. He owned several businesses, including a saloon, a grocery store, and a real estate company. He was also involved in local politics and served as a city councilman and county supervisor.
Hensley had the Queen Anne-style home built in 1904 as a residence for himself and his family. The home features ornate architectural details, including a turret, a wrap-around porch, and decorative shingles. It was one of the largest and most elaborate homes in San Jose at the time.

Joe and Michelle are actually a really sweet couple. I know I say this in many of my articles, but he also was part of my martial arts school for a number of years. He ended being my very first wedding when I first started and drove me out to California to San Jose.
Joe Gonzales was very dedicated to the Martial Arts specifically sport karate and trained with many great Sensei’s. He eventually hired me as his first wedding photographer. During this time it was the height of the Corona Virus and he was forced to shut down and reschedule his wedding. Joe and Michelle were tired of waiting so finally he tied the knot in May 23,2020 and we were able to take do some great video of the wedding.
This Hensley House was my very first wedding, I have been photographing many times for events before but this was officially was my first wedding. I find it cool it was one of my black belts from my school but I was honored to do it.
